I have a number of holes in bare soil against my home with large hornets that I thought were murder hornets. I got in touch with Jim and I feel bad because I was pestering him to come asap because I had to leave for a doctor appointment. He was very responsive and came out before I had to leave.

Overall Experience:

Jim immediately identified the insects as non-aggressive ground hornets who feed on cicadas and pest insects. He demonstrated this by waving his hand near their ground nests where they were flying around. He let us know these are not something that he handles but recommended some solutions for control. Jim is incredibly knowledgeable, friendly and really eased my mind. Thank you!!!

I contacted The Bee Hunter on Wednesday, June 17th leaving a voicemail message. Jim got back to me within minutes. I told him in my aluminum shed, right above where the 2 sliding doors come together, I noted a wasp nest. Jim advised he would be able to assist me. On Thursday 6/18 he texted me in the evening advising he would be out Friday, 6/19. When Jim arrived he not only found the nest I had called him about, but there were 2 more inside the shed, and he noted one under my porch awning!! He took care of ALL the nests, as well as treated my whole shed, giving a warranty that is good until the end of the year!!!

Overall Experience:

Jim is very professional, respectful, friendly and knows his stuff. As his shirt says \"I\'ve been doing this since I was twelve!\" I HIGHLY recommend him to anyone with problems with ALL stinging insects!

We first had Jim come our 3 years ago. We had a big problem with carpenter bees on our back patio.
He and his assistant spent a lot of time repairing the damage done in the cedar. After that application, the bees were gone. They would still come back and hover, but would not touch the wood. Now we rarely see them.
Having now had applications 3 years in a row has saved our patio.

I found a yellow jacket nest in my linen closet, in my bedroom. Absolutely disgusting and disturbing!! I called Jim and left him a message. He called me back the next day. He was so busy but was able to fit me in a few days later. He was able to remove the nest which he discovered was in my attic right over my nightstand. Ick! I had a party that afternoon will my girlfriends when he was able to get there. He was so kind and friendly and managed to get everything removed in the most least disruptive way possible.

Overall Experience:

Jim is a wonderful man! He explained everything that was happening, how the new got there, what they were doing an d what he was going to do to get them removed. Not one bee left the area he was working in. There was no mess and only a few leftover bees that sadly thought they were going to make it near the open window. Jim The Bee Hunter is the go to person. We used him several years ago when we had yellow Jackets going in and out of an outside wall. Recently, I noticed Yellow Jackets flying in and out of a different wall and called Jim. To our surprise Jim pointed out a second nest of Yellow Jackets in the ground and took care of that nest. Jim is truly the BEE HUNTER!

We noticed a lot of Yellowjackets going in the wall into the integral garage. A friend recommended the Bee Hunter. As expected Jim\'s voicemail said he was booked and very in demand. Jim got back to me by later that evening and gave sound advice after he listened to our problem. Don\'t spray more Wasp and Hornet killer as that could push the bees further in the house. Jim arrived a day later after calling us more than once to assure that he was on his way. Jim exterminated the bees. Proof to us he is a professional ,polite, and dependable. Jim offered any follow up visits if the bees were to return. They are gone ! I am writing this Sept.6,2023. The nest he removed was large and in the ceiling of the garage. Jim installed a temporary patch as the bees ate into the plaster. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!!!!!!!

Jim applied the annual spring preventative solution to keep the bees, wasps, hornets and yellow jackets from even thinking about nesting on our property. We have uses Jin for the past 10+years and every year we get the sea great results - no more bees, wasps, hornets or yellow jackets on our property!

Overall Experience:

When we moved into our home located in a wooded suburban development, it came with just about every flying, stinging bug imaginable. We had carpenter bees, hornet\'s nests, mud wasps, umbrella wasp nests, and in-ground yellow jackets. After we tried (and failed) with others for a few years, a colleague referred Jim. He was prompt, responsive and effective! He removed all of the nests and applied a protective spray to keep the bugs away. We now schedule Jim to come every spring to apply that protective spray and guess what? No more bees, wasps, hornets, or yellow jackets on the property! Ever. We can enjoy the great outdoors again. We recommend Jim to all of our neighbors and friends. In an age when it is hard to find people who actually want to work, Jim is a rarity - a super hard worker who does the job right.

Service Description:

I had an issue on the second floor bathroom of one of my properties which had been vacant for quite some time. I did not know the extent until bees (yellow jackets) were somehow entering the bathroom.
I called the Bee Hunter from an add on the internet and he actually responded within a half- hour.. and then came to the property later that afternoon to access the situation. He was meticulous in keeping contact with me as to the time he would be available and arrive…in other words “no guessing or waiting!” and in the course of the next few days he followed through on “EVERYTHING” that he said.
I really liked his presence and professionalism and felt instinctively that this was a contractor I could trust. He is a local company with a nice neat truck, a very professional manner and appearance and he kindly and safely wore a mask. He gave me a day that he would be out and texted me that day so that I knew exactly when he was coming. The price was “very” fair considering the second-floor access was difficult because of the condition of the premises and the fact that he had to reach outside the 2nd floor window which to me looked pretty scary.
And just to add, he worked “very neatly” so ladies who are worried about contractors who are sometimes not so neat to most times down-right messy when entering your home…this is someone who has all those bases neatly covered!
An now I am happy that my bees are in a better place!

Overall Experience:

Glad to have been lucky enough to find this contractor.
It was a completely painless contractor experience!
Thanks you Bee Hunter Jim!!!!!

I made a frantic call one evening to Jim after realizing that I had 3 yellow jacket nests around my house—one in the yard, one in the wall next to the front door that reached to the second floor, and one inside the walls on the third floor. Overall Experience:

We had a soccer ball sized hornet nest hanging from the soffit under our gutter and we wanted it gone. After a Google search, I chose Jim “The Bee Hunter” because of his 30+ years of experience removing bees and the abundance of A+ reviews he has received. When he arrived, he was a super nice guy and explained the entire process and all the steps he would take in advance. Then he sat down on the floor of our front porch where our youngest pup immediately got into his lap and stayed there. I think she would have gone home with him. After spending time with her, he went to work, put on his bee suit and climbed onto the porch roof where he sprayed and removed the nest within 20 minutes. He then applied another spray that would prevent the hornets from building a new nest on the same spot. Quick and very professional job!! I would absolutely use his services again and I highly recommend Jim “The Bee Hunter” to anyone who is having issues with bees, wasps, or hornets. Another A+ rating from another satisfied customer.

Service Description:

We thought we had a large bees nest behind our siding on the back of our house. The area was very high up and not easily accessible. The Bee Hunter came and assessed the issue and located the bees nest fairly quickly. It was NOT where we thought it was. It was actually inside the house between the floors. Apparently, bees were coming in through a tiny crack in the mortar between the bricks. He had to drill holes into the ceiling to spray bee killer in there. Then he cut a piece of the ceiling out and removed the actual nest....which was huge! He also cleaned up every bit of dust as well as dead bees. We had lingering bees for a while, and he came back to assess the issue again to make sure that he got all of the nest. He did get all of the nest the first time, but since it was such a large nest it took longer than expected for us to stop seeing bees.

Overall Experience:

We are highly satisfied with his work and his responsiveness when we thought the bees were back.

Yellow Jackets, flying in and out of my driveway wall.

Overall Experience:

Jim was a God-send! I had yellow jackets flying in and out of my driveway wall near my steps, severely limiting our access. At first they were not too bad, but quickly became agressive and a big problem. I tried to remedy the problem myself, but they would just come through another part of the wall. In desperation I contacted Jim, the Bee Hunter! He was professional, prompt, curteous and got the job done. He had to tear down my wall, but he was able to get the nest and the queen, he saved the day. Thank you Jim, I have since referred Jim to others and he has done the same stellar job for them as he did for me. Highly recommend The BeeHunter!

Pamela Verona

Service Description:

While watering flowers in our courtyard one late afternoon, I obviously disturbed an in-ground yellow jacket nest. The next thing I knew I was stung multiple times The bees pursued me, stinging as I ran some 80 feet from the nest. After some fast quick first aid I instructed my family members to find someone who specializes in bees, hornets, etc. My wife found The Bee Hunter while I was taking Benadryl and scrubbing my stings, I called his number and I got Jim (The Bee Hunter) - not an answering service or a recording.
I told him what happened and he said he was in close proximity to my area and would try to get to my home before dark (Which he did.).
When I showed the nest's location he identified the species and gave a quick background on this type of yellow jacket. He told me what he was going to do, step by step, before he did it.
I then left the area until they were done, for my own safety. At that time he showed me what he had found. The nest was larger than I had even imagined. The yellow jackets had their own Tora Bora installation in there. Jim told me what to expect in the coming week around the nest site. He instructed me to call him if they were buzzing around the nest site after one week. They weren't.
Jim showed up in a very professionally maintained vehicle with graphics consistent with his company's identity. I was impressed with him and with his assistant who looked like he just graduated from Princeton.

Overall Experience:

I have called people to perform work and service the property all my life (and that's a long time) and I must say many were great, but "The Bee Hunter" was the all time best, Jim knows his work. He appears to get into the mind of the bee (if it has one). Basically he is my idea of the consummate professional. "The Bee Hunter" is everything one can expect in a business. I would definitely recommend him to anyone and have already.
An unpleasant afternoon turned into a refreshing, pleasurable experience.

Service Description:

Jim came to take a look at our bee problem and ended up removing a very large yellow jacket nest that was located in the in the garage ceiling.
After he located the nest, he suited up and removed the nest by cutting into the corner of the ceiling. He then applied a powder that would prevent the bees from returning to the site He neatly sealed the hole and cleaned the area.

Overall Experience:

Jim did an amazing job. He arrived promptly for the appointment. He was very friendly, courteous, and knowledgeable. He told us what type of bees they were, explained what he would do to remove the nest, and gave us an very reasonable quote. After he had removed the nest, he told us what to expect as the bees would be hovering for possibly a week or so looking for the nest. That didn't happen. We saw a few bees for a day or 2 and then they were gone. I would ABSOLUTELY recommend The Bee Hunter for any bee, wasp or hornet problem we have in the future. He was amazing and we do plan to have him come back in the spring to deal with a wasp problem we have near our deck. Thank you, Jim. You are awesome!!!

We were set to put up new drywall in our hallway when we had yellow jackets start appearing a few at a time in our house daily. We did not know where they were coming from. So, for safety sake we cancelled the repairs & called The Bee Hunter, who had terrific reviews. First surprise! We got Jim & not an answering machine. We told him about our dilemma. He informed us that yellow jackets were active from noon to 4 PM & would be going in & out of their nest outdoors for pollen. He told us to check the outdoor perimeter of the house for activity. We found the troubled area & saw we were unable to deal with the matter ourselves, so we called Jim. Again we got Jim & not an answering machine. He was busy at another job at the time, but he said he could come out to do the work for us that afternoon if we wanted him. We said yes & true to his word. He was at our house quickly that afternoon. Because he was unable to address the problem from the outside, he was left with having to cut a small hole in the bathroom wall for the extermination & removal of the nest. He cleaned up & carried out the nest. So far our home is yellow jacket free. Thanks to the expert know how skills of Jim! Hope we stay bee free. But if not then he’s the man we call. Jim is truly an expert in what he specializes in. We will recommend him to friends and family.

Jim visited my home after my unscuccessful attempt to tackle the wasp/yellow jacket infestation. By this time, I had spent four weeks and three cans of Wasp Spray to no avail. Jim came out for our now-annual prevention treatment, which works like magic! We live in the hills of Sewickley in a heavily wooded area. Prior to meeting Jim, we had terrible problems with carpenter bees that literally destroyed a wooden mailbox and were drilling holes in our wooden deck, which we couldn't use for fear of the bees, wasps and hornets; we had a hornet's nest the size of basketball and two smaller ones; in-ground yellow jackets; and every type of wasp you can imagine, many of whom made their way INSIDE our house! Three years ago, we hired the Bee Hunter. He removed the hornet's nest, yellow jacket nests and wasp nests and wiped out the carpenter bees! He treated our house inside and out and the wasps, hornets, yellow jackets and bees were gone. We now hire the Bee Hunter to apply a preventive treatment each year, and it works like magic. No more stinging insects. We can enjoy our deck again!

Service Description:

The yellow jacket hives were inside the ground behind a rock retaining wall. Jim carefully removed each heavy stone in order to extract the hives. He scraped each stone clean before reconstructing the wall and swept up each bit of dirt from the sidewalk. He put up caution tape so pedestrians wouldn't get stung. In the past, he has also successfully removed hives from the wall of the home and a hole in the ground. These hives were really big and, after seeing them, it was clear to me that a can of spray from the local hardware store would never do the trick. It is well worth it to have Jim out and get it done right.

Overall Experience:

We wouldn't have anyone but Jim to help with our yellow jacket problem. Jim is absolutely meticulous, professional, and very personable. We live near Frick Park so yellow jackets are a yearly issue for us (six hives in two summers!). This is the second year we've called on Jim and each time he has done a fabulous job.He even came out on a Sunday morning! He was also so kind to my son, taking time to show him his truck and tools. We really appreciate Jim and the excellent business he runs. Thanks Jim!

I called Jim on July 16, 2016 after finding a hornet nest in the awning of my bedroom. Jim made an effort and came the same day. The hornets were banging into the window and were very agitated. Jim explained that they were angry because the nest was above the air conditioning unit and the hot air blowing up caused them to be aggravated. Jim put on his safety equipment and quickly took care of the problem. He then treated the awning so they would not try to rebuild. He also looked at the rest of the house to see if there were any other nests or conditions that could become an issue. He is very thorough and I would recommend him to anyone. It was very interesting to learn about the hornets and the nest they built. Thanks Jim for taking care of the problem so quickly!!!

It was likely hidden in an interior wall just behind a gutter area. The problem was resolved. Thanks!

Overall Experience:

Jim was professional and courteous. I was pleased that he was able to take care of the problem quickly. Thanks again.

We have used Jim every year since 2009. Quite simply, he is awesome! We first met Jim when we had a Yellow Jacket infestation in a previous house. From that moment on, he became our "go to" guy for keeping our house bee free (he comes to treat the house every year)! When we moved into our new house, once again, Jim was there to remove some carpenter bees. Every time Jim visits, he goes above and beyond in service to ensure the job is done right. Jim is the best Bee Hunter in the business - we wouldn't think of using anyone else.

Overall Experience:

Complete treatment inside and out of the house for wasps and other flying menaces.

Overall Experience:

We have used Jim's services EVERY YEAR since 2008 when we had a very unexpected and very frighteningly large invasion of yellow jackets in the wall just above our front door. We 'happened upon' him, I think via the Yellow Pages at the time and what a blessing! He came almost immediately in response to our frantic call, quickly discovered the situation, and in the cleanest, most humane, and most professional way, got close to 7,000 yellow jackets out of the nests they had built in our wall! It was a scene from a scary movie to see the number of potential stingers dropping out of the wall. When it was all done, he left the house in the most pristine condition, nary a carcass to be found.
Since that time, we have had Jim return annually to treat the house both inside and out and we have NEVER, EVER had another flying insect problem the entire time.
Every year, we happily greet him, appreciate his work ethic, integrity and cleanliness. I have recommended him to to many other people and would not hesitate to use him to deal with any insect issues in any house I might ever own.
One other additional fun piece...he asked if he could call a news station to video the entire thing and interview us (he gets those requests annually from the local stations)...and he did and we did...so the immediate Pittsburgh community was enlightened as to our little story--ah, ya know, got those 15 minutes of fame in there in addition to his great services!

Thanks, Jim!

We had Jim The Bee Hunter spray our deck in May as a preventative measure as last year we had carpenter bees in the cedar. It is definitely working! Overall Experience:

We have had The Bee Hunter to our home 3 times and each time it has been a favorable experience. A few years ago he safely removed a large hornets nest in our front tree. Last year he sprayed our deck porch to get rid of carpenter bees that were making nests. We had no further issues after his application.

Jim arrived on time, assessed the problem, explained what he needed to do and how much the cost would be. He also explained his guarantee, and put everything in writing. And yes, he was covered head to toe in the classic white bee suit. He got to work, and in short order, he was done. He was friendly, personable and happily answered my questions.

Barry Upper St. Clair

Service Description:

The date above is my most recent experience with The Bee Hunter. I have had to call him every year for the last three years and am so pleased with his service I wouldn't call anyone else. Evidently yellow jackets love us in Penn Hills! The most recent call was for yellow jackets behind a retaining wall in my daughter's driveway. We were afraid my grandchildren would be stung so of course we called Jim, The Bee Hunter. He is always very kind and does the job right. I could not be at my daughter's house because of a doctor's appointment, but he came and took care of the problem right away. That is another thing I like about him, he responds to your calls right away and is there when he says he will be. Last year at our house, I literally stepped on a hornet's nest in the ground under our raised deck,(picture a grandma with hornets stuck in her legs running up a driveway screaming), I still cringe at the remembrance and that was taken care of as professionally as the ones under the front bushes the year before. All I can say is The Bee Hunter is thorough and professional, I wouldn't mess with the rest, I call the best-The Bee Hunter!!!

Overall Experience:

You can read about my overall experience above, but I couldn't have a better experience with a service. He is professional, responsive, punctual and easy to talk to. Before I called him the first time, I called a few others and even on the phone they were not as responsive, that is how I ended up with The Bee Hunter and as I said now I wouldn't call anyone else.

Overall Experience:

I have had Jim come several times with hives/issues, but the preventative treatment was the way to go this time!

Erin Bethel Park

Service Description:

Jim removed an underground yellow jacket nest behind a retaining wall next to the driveway. It is a single width drive and the hive entrance was at head level on the passenger side if you parked in the driveway-very dangerous. I had tried to kill them with foaming spray twice unsuccessfully, so I called several exterminators and the ONLY one who answered said I needed the Bee Hunter and gave me his number- I called, he answered right away and said he could be there the NEXT day.
The Bee Hunter had to remove part of the block wall to get to the nest. He was very careful to not damage any blocks and even replaced them when he finished!
He was very careful using three different chemicals and removed and disposed of the nest.
I feel safe and don't have to worry any more about visitors or the mail man getting stung-Thanks Bee Hunter!

Overall Experience:

Jim was very courteous, knowledgeable and professional. He patiently answered all my questions, was concerned for my safety-I wanted to watch and was too close-he showed me to a safe area and went back to his work. He had to take part of my wall apart and even fixed it when he was done!
Jim is a very nice person and he knows his stuff! I'd tell everyone to call him

Jim came out the same day. Explained treatment plan as well as cost prior to beginning the spraying. After the treatment, the bees appear to be all gone! I will definitely call him again if another problem occurs.

The Bee Hunter examined the problem, diagnosed it, and effectively treated it performing a lasting solution to it. Carpenter Bees were eating the wood in our attic and dormers. The BeeHunter treated all entry points, plugged the holes and treated all surrounding areas. NO MORE BEES!!

Overall Experience:

The Bee Hunter solved the "bee plague" at our house! For years we had Bee service companies treat our attic and dormers for bees. Their treatments were effective for about 3 months. About 4 or 5 years ago, we called the BeeHunter who diagnosed, treated, and guaranteed his work. This spring, when we noticed a few carpenter bees searching for a home, we called the BeeHunter again. His response was immediate, and treatment effective! I would HIGHLY recommend the BeeHunter and his services. He knows what he is doing!!

Service Description:

The Bee Hunter came to our home on Saturday to remove a hornet nest that was hanging from our roof. The Bee Hunter went onto our roof and sprayed inside the nest and removed it and the sprayed the roof with a spray to kill the remaining hornets, which were very aggressive. He was stung a few times, but kept going!

Overall Experience:

The Bee Hunter is absolutely fantastic!! After he had the nest down and took it to his truck, he showed my three daughters the larvae that were still in the nest and even hatched a few of them and was great with my kids!! The Bee Hunter was very personable and very easy to get along with. He did not rush around and shut us out, he stayed and explained everything to me and my husband and even sprayed another area of our home which had a wasp nest in it. I strongly recommend calling The Bee Hunter for any bee troubles you are having! You wont regret it in any way!!

Overall Experience:

We originally hired The Bee Hunter years ago to handle a large yellow jacket nest that formed at one of the peaks of our roof, but since then we have hired him annually for treatment of our entire property. He has removed THOUSANDS of stinging insects from my home: in crawl spaces, in attic space, even in the walls of my daughter's bedroom! We have The Bee Hunter, (aka Jim), come to our home every year to help remove and eliminate all stinging insects. Areas covered range from our deck and garage, mulch beds, windows, cracks and crevices outside to the attic inside (yes...they nest there too). The Bee Hunter treated all these areas and makes our home 'bee free'.

Overall Experience:

Quite simply, Jim 'The Bee Hunter' is incredibly experienced, a true professional, and second-to-none in his field. He is extremely hard working and dependable. The quality of work done is easily noticeable and he will take his time explaining anything and everything. No question will go unanswered. Being allergic to stinging insects, Jim is the first person we are hoping to see when the weather permits. He never disappoints. He is very courteous and polite and makes you feel as if you've known him your whole life. He also has some good stories to tell! Give The Bee Hunter a 'buzz', and you'll see for yourself.

Service Description:

For the past couple of years, Jim has come out and provided stinging insect preventive treatment for a recurrent carpenter bee problem I have on my back patio eaves.

Overall Experience:

One of the things I really appreciate is that Jim mails out a reminder card when it is time for my annual preventive treatment to be applied. Upon receiving my reminder card, I sent an email to schedule service. Jim's response was very prompt -- within a day or two. He was even able to perform the work without my being home. Any exposed items that were on the patio were covered prior to the treament and the area was left very clean following the service. Jim is the utmost professional and I would highly recommend him to anyone.

The bee hunter has removed a bees nest in my wall and also has done a preventative treatment.

Overall Experience:

Jim has on two separate occasions helped me out. Both times he was prompt, courteous and thorough. That includes the first visit when a contractor working on my home discovered a large bees nest in my wall, since I had an infant in the house at the time, Jim rearranged his day to take care of the problem as fast as possible. Also I work for a local cable provider and I enter attics and crawl spaces all the time. If I encounter any stinging insects I advise my customers to contact "the bee hunter" straight away. I highly recommend Jim to anyone.
Ps.If its hot out and he has to work in your attic get the guy a cold drink!!

The Bee hunter has been helping us with our Bee issues for years. We have him come every year at the beginning of the summer to do a preventative spray and tackle any of our current bee problems. He has saved us from a nest that was in our ceiling, the carpenter bees that made a home out of our deck, and the many wast nests that have had. He even came back to respray when the carpenter bees were stubborn and came back! I am allergic to bees so his service has been so important for us every year.
